  Favorite Band as a teenager........

  as a teenager, what was your favorite band?

  this band can be a local, main stream etc..... my favorite local band was little blue crunchy things, they were from milwaukee, wi.

  i just heard an old moody blues song i haven't heard in years.

  it was actually a medley...it started out with a spoken word/poem piece called "in the beginning" before moving into "lovely to see you".. anyway, i had always gotten a kick out of the poem but hearing it today, after finding my way out of the jws, gives it a whole new meaning:.

  1st voice(man): i think, therefore i am...i think.

  Disfellowshiped to make an example out of you

  i knew someone who was df because of where they worked, the elders df him and said they needed to make an example out of him to the rest of the cong,

  he worked at a company who supplied military & civilian parts, a few of his co-workers were jw's but nothing happend to them.

  i alway felt race had something to do with it and maybe jealousy, he was a dark hispanic in a mostly white hall, and he made a lot of money, had a big house and drove a caddy.

If I remember correct one of the elders was a janitor, and the other was a pool cleaner. Does anyone else have a similar story?

  Were YOU Depressed When You Were A Witness?

  i've seen soooo many witnesses taking meds or alcohol because of unhappiness and depression.

  i know of one woman who regularly gos to her shrink and is the most depressed person that i know of.

  personally, i believe it's because a jw can never do enough to satisfy god or the elders....what do you think?

  I see so many JW's in my family that are drunks, and a few hooked to perscription pain killers. Its amazing but I wonder if the Org said that Alcohol was no longer allowed, how many would leave or be DF.

  What is all this about Smurfs?

  i have been out a long time, and i have recently noticed a lot of you making mention of smurfs.. obviously, i have missed something.

  has the watchliar sociopath society "demonized" smurfs somewhere along the line.. reminds me of the old fear of paintings of clowns, with big eyes, that made the rounds back in the late 60's, early 70's.

  I too lived in the Smurf Cold war, I used to like the cartoons, but after it was said that we couldn't watch it my mom would kick my ass if I tried, Also Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie, Thunder Cats, Twilight Zone, Troll Dolls (I had a few pencil top ones) Along with any toys that had guns my mom wouldn't let me have them so no GI Joes, or Transformers with weapons, all my guys were unarmed DAMN!!!!! Oh yeah and no model airplanes that were military. Any of you guys find that after you left the ORG you had a second childhood??

  Are "orbs" in photographs spirits?

  as weird as i may be perceived, i do believe you can catch spirit entities on film.

  and the more you believe in them the more you get on your pictures.

  they are attracted to frovility, laughing, children, parties, families...and i take pictures at every function i go to and they arent always there.

  Crazy, isn't it amazing how much DF is so much like Shunning? WOW the power of the watchtower. And uhh any material Printed, spoken aloud, video, websites, signs, thoughts, thoughts before the original thought to think about the thought , against the Organization IS Apostate!!!!

  our vacation plans

  next month my husband and i are going to visit his jw mother and step- father in florida .

  they are aware we are no longer attending meetings, but during recent visit here said nothing about it .

  well i just received an email from stepdad (elder) he went on about how busy we will be sight seeing that week, and with meetings on mon,wed,and sunday.
